Predicting, designing and trading the future.
F2N is the newsletter for F2N, a design and strategy agency (think IDEO meets McKinsey for the AI era). We develop product, market and investment strategies and solutions for corporates, funds and deep tech startups.
In this newsletter we outline trends and scenarios that can help people build businesses or make investments based on the intertwined understanding of technology and finance.
About the Author.
F2N is written by David Galbraith, a highly technical designer, entrepreneur and investor who co-founded and exited multiple companies (Origins acq. D.C. Thompson, Moreover acq. Verisign) in London, New York and San Francisco and who was originally a qualified architect in the UK, working for Norman Foster. More recently, David spent a decade as a general partner in a $1.5 billion Venture Capital fund.
David created several of the key components of the internet and social media, used by millions of people worldwide, including: co-authoring the RSS standard; instigating the project which became Yelp with Max Levchin, co-founder of Paypal; developing the visual bookmark concept popularised by Pinterest; generating the ubiquitous adoption of one line bios used on most social media platforms; writing a standard for enhanced real time web indexing with Matt Mullenweg creator of Wordpress and developing Newsblogger, one of the earliest social media applications, with Evan Williams, co-founder of Twitter.
Om Malik: "David has a nasty habit of predicting the future before anyone else”.
Journalist, entrepreneur & investor
Charles Oppenheimer: “David has a unique ability to view the world through the lens of designer, engineer or investor and to combine these into a single, novel world view”.
Founder of the J Robert Oppenheimer project and energy investor.
James Reuther: “David can combine creativity with deep intellectual insights like no other person I know”.
Former Deputy Director, Space Technology Program, NASA
